Peter Collins

Most recognisable Irish broadcaster, Peter Collins, has spent his career sharing the stories, drama, and excitement of sport & music with audiences across Ireland and beyond. His love of broadcasting began early in life, inspired by Radio Luxembourg legend Bob Stewart, whose voice first sparked Peter's fascination with radio.

That passion led him to Radio 2/2FM, where he spent 14 years immersed in music and live broadcasting. Simultaneously, Peter began to make inroads on television, presenting RTÉ's coverage of Australian Rules football, his first taste of the fast-paced world of TV sport. From there, he joined the RTÉ newsroom as a sports presenter and reporter before moving full-time to the RTÉ Sports Department, where he has since covered some of the biggest events in world sport.

Over the years, Peter has presented and commentated on everything from Sports Stadium and Sunday Sport to the Formula One and MotoGP World Championships. He has presented, reported, and commentated on every FIFA World Cup, Summer Olympics, and UEFA European Championship since 1992, as well as countless Champions League, Premier League, League of Ireland, and international athletics events.

From packed stadiums to bright-light studio desks, Peter's calm authority, deep knowledge, and genuine enthusiasm for sport have made him a trusted and familiar voice to generations of Irish viewers.

A lifelong sports fan, music fanatic and natural storyteller, Peter Collins continues to bring passion, insight, and authenticity to every broadcast, engagement and collaboration.
